Event Page Progress Section

This article will guide you through what you can do with a Progress section of designing and working with the Event Page. If you are just starting in designing your event page, you will likely want to start here.

Include a Progress section in your Event Page with a dynamic amount raised, a progress circle that fills as you get closer to your goal and a donor wall to thank all your donors right on your Event Page.

If you will have more than 1,000 live viewers during your virtual event, please contact your Account Manager a week in advance so we can advise on the setup and preparation for your event and schedule complementary technical monitoring during your event.

The Progress section is an optional section you can add to your Event Page. With it, you can have an embedded web page equivalent of your Fundraising Thermometer right in your event page, including a donor wall. In fact the Progress section uses the same information from your Thermometer page.

Note: the Progress section updates when you refresh the page. It does not instantly refresh like the Fundraising Thermometer page.

You can personalize the Progress section to include or exclude the progress bar and the donor wall so you can create the exact experience you desire.

Note: To use the Progress section correctly, the Event Page must be created in your Text-to-Donate activity as it pulls the donation details from the donation form. Think of it as a different design of a Fundraising Thermometer - it must be used from the same activity.

Progress Section Example

Note: The Progress section, unlike a Fundraising Thermometer only shows actual donations, whether they are through the donation form or through an offline payment. No pledges will be shown.

Add the Progress Section

The Progress section is an optional addition to your Event Page. To add it, click the Add Section button in the upper right of your Event Page designer and choose Progress.

Add Section Menu

You will need to name the section, and then you can initially place it in the order you desire. If you want to more it to a different part of the page, you can do so later as described here

Add Progress Section

Now that you have a new Section, you can personalize it.

Display Section

If you decide against using the Progress section, you can hide it  with the Show/Hide switch.

You can also delete the section by clicking the Trashcan icon, if you decide not to use it at all. If you delete it, you will be shown a confirmation box before it completes the deletion

Delete Warning

Title

You don't need to use a title, so the Show/Hide switch starts disabled. If you want a title, switch it to Show.

You can edit the Title to be anything you wish and include different formatting. You can also choose other variables from the drop down list.

Progress Bar

If you don't want the circle known as the Progress bar, you can hide it. Maybe you just want a donor wall. If you hide the Progress Bar, then the Donor wall will automatically be centered in this section.

Otherwise you can edit the Progress bar by clicking the Edit icon.

Edit Progress Bar

Here, you can choose to show the goal with the On/Off switch, and choose a goal amount.

The initial goal amount is initially copied from the amount you set in the Fundraising Thermometer section as you create the Event Page. At that point, the goals no longer sync and you can set either to whatever amount you want.

If you have not set up the goal in the Fundraising thermometer, then the initial amount for the Progress Bar will be set to $10,000.

You can show or hide the Total Collected amount.

You can show or hide the Donor count.

Make sure to click Save if you make any changes.

Again, the Total Collected and the Donor count are calculated from within this activity, so it is a best practice to always create your Event Page from your main Text-to-Donate activity.

Donor Wall

If you don't want the Donor wall, you can hide it with the Show/Hide switch. If you hide the Donor wall, then the Progress Bar will automatically be centered in this section.

Otherwise you can edit the Donor Wall by clicking the Edit icon.

Edit Donor Wall

You can choose to show the donors' names and or the amount they have donated.

Make sure to click Save if you make any changes.

While the Goal in the Progress Bar section is only initially tied to the goal in the Fundraising thermometer, the actual donors and the amount they've donated will be the same for both, if you're using both, including any offline donations.

Message

The Message section is usually used to alert supporters to the Donate button so they can affect the progress, but it could be anything from thanking your donors to cheering the progress so far to motivating people to donate.

If you do not want to include a message, you can use the Show/Hide switch to remove it from your Event Page.

Button

While the button is listed generically, so can be used for anything, in the Progress section, it is primarily used for Donations so the donor can see their name on the Donor Wall and see the progress increase.

If you do not want to include the Button, you can use the Show/Hide switch to remove it from your Event Page.

Click the Edit icon to change the label on the button and to which form it will go.

Background Color

The Background of the Progress section starts as dark grey (hex code #333333) for the Dark Theme and white (hex code #ffffff) with the Light Theme.

To change the Background Color, enter a color's hexadecimal code or click on the color square and pick the color of your choice using the wheel and square.

Now your Progress section is ready to go, perfect for Days of Giving, Virtual Events and more.
